Sefa Dere, a weather forecasting expert from the General Directorate of Meteorology of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, made a statement regarding the weather expected across the country this week.
RAIN FOR 3 DAYS
According to the latest assessments, Dere stated that partly and less cloudy weather will prevail across the country starting tomorrow, and rain is expected in the northern and northeastern parts of the country for the next 3 days.
Dere explained that after Friday, the rains will shift to the northeastern parts of the Eastern Anatolia Region, and noted that the rains expected tomorrow in the Eastern Black Sea region will be locally heavy.
WIND EXPECTED IN ISTANBUL
Dere reported that wind will also occur along with the rainy weather, stating, "We expect wind especially in our western and southern regions, including the Marmara Region and Istanbul. In the Aegean Region, it will blow from northerly directions, particularly in Izmir. There is wind in the inner parts of the Mediterranean, in the Taurus region."
Dere said that starting tomorrow, temperatures will drop below seasonal norms.
Dere stated that in Ankara, the daytime temperature is expected to be around 28 degrees and the nighttime temperature around 12 degrees, in Istanbul, daytime temperature 28-30 degrees and nighttime 20-22 degrees, and in Izmir, daytime temperature 35-36 degrees and nighttime around 24 degrees.
Dere noted that temperatures will rise back to seasonal norms starting from the end of next week.
