The leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, made a statement regarding the escalating tensions in Syria. Bahçeli stated, "The proxy conflicts in Syria pose a threat to Turkey as much as they do to the neighboring geography. Ethnic and sectarian confrontations, which there is no doubt are being controlled from outside, have unfortunately gained functionality and progress, turning into nightmare scenarios."

The ethnic and sectarian confrontations, which there is not the slightest doubt are controlled from the outside, have unfortunately given functionality and progress to nightmare scenarios. The regional and global hostility mechanisms, which aim to obstruct the rebirth of Syria from its ashes and to create chaos through their subcontractors, have initiated chaos production.
"IT IS TOO EARLY TO SAY THAT THE CRISIS ENVIRONMENT IS APPROPRIATE"
Even though the waters in Syria have relatively calmed down and internal bleeding has been brought under control, it is still too early to say that the crisis environment, which is in a deep wave, has settled down. A primitive and disgusting scheme that aims to ignite Syria and corner regional countries by stirring up and meddling with sectarian conflict is visibly making progress. The dark picture, where Baath remnants act as puppets, foreign intelligence agencies are active, and Zionist barbarism is at play, is evident in all its severity.
"CHP ACTS LIKE A TRIGGER FOR THE BAATH MENTALITY"
In this context, the Republican People's Party's acting like a trigger for the Baath mentality and resorting to an exploitation campaign over our Alevi brothers is a new derivative of its sick and hostile politics. The CHP's sectarian provocation is the most grievous evil that can be inflicted not only on Turkey but also on Islamic societies and regional balances and dynamics during these blessed days. The CHP's positioning as a remnant and extension of Baath is a very dangerous fracture and rupture.
"NEITHER OUR ALEVI BROTHERS NOR OUR SUNNI BROTHERS WILL BE DECEIVED BY DEADLY GAMES"
Our Alevi brothers are our soul and our beloved; they are the inseparable, indivisible, and inseparable values of our nation and the Islamic world. Those who create a chasm between Alevis and Sunnis, those who incite division among them, and those who present them as distant and foreign are enemies of religion, faith, nation, and community. Those who pursue political sectarianism and ethnic discrimination are committing crimes against humanity and participating in actions and ambitions that are contrary to law and constitution. It is beneficial for the DEM Party to clarify its stance and attitude in the face of these developments. In their contacts with the CHP or other parties, will they discuss the February 27 Imralı call, or will they listen to the outdated and fossilized clichés of parties that are in search of steps that destroy ethnic and sectarian sensitivities?
"THE TURKISH NATION WILL NOT TOLERATE THOUGHTLESS POLITICIANS"
Will they fulfill the requirements of the "Call for Peace and Democratic Society" prepared by the founding leader of the PKK, or will they mediate for the rotten political mentalities that project Turkey's internal chaos and turmoil under the pretext of Syria? It is an urgent and vital need for the DEM Party to crystallize its decision in this context. While Turkey is on the verge of permanently removing terrorism from the life of the nation and state, opportunistic, fickle, and thoughtless politicians who use ethnic and sectarian provocations as political tools and arguments will neither be forgiven by God nor tolerated by the esteemed Turkish nation.
The Nationalist Movement Party is concerned about the emergence of other and more terrifying new problems while fighting for liberation from a calamity and invites everyone, especially political parties, to be moral, sensitive, national, and responsible. Let it not be forgotten that the gasoline poured into the fire will burn the one who poured it first; whoever hopes for help from the wind will be the first to lose their roof."
