The government plans to increase the holiday bonus given to retirees, with a 1,000 TL raise option being prominent. The increased bonus is expected to be deposited into accounts before the Ramadan holiday, while the final decision will be made by President Erdoğan.
The government is preparing to increase the holiday bonus of 3,000 TL paid to retirees every year during Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. In this context, three different increase options are being considered: 500 TL, 750 TL, and 1,000 TL. It is stated that the 1,000 TL increase option is prominent, and if this amount is approved by the Parliament, retirees will receive a bonus of 4,000 TL.
WHEN WILL THE INCREASED BONUS BE PAID?
The ruling party, AK Party, will present the increase proposal to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) on March 10. It is planned for the regulation to be added to the omnibus bill, to be discussed in the TBMM Planning and Budget Commission next week, and then voted on in the General Assembly to become law. The goal is to deposit the increased bonus into retirees' accounts before Eid al-Fitr.
THE FINAL DECISION IS WITH PRESIDENT ERDOĞAN
The regulation will become official after the approval of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. It is reported that the 1,000 TL increase option is prominent as a result of the studies, and it is highly likely that retirees will receive a bonus of 4,000 TL. Millions of retirees are waiting for the announcement of the increased bonus before the holiday.
