Making a first in the history of aviation, the Bayraktar TB3, which is the first UAV to take off and land from a short runway ship, successfully hit the target with its first firing test using MAM-T ammunition.

By making a first in the history of aviation, the Bayraktar TB3 UAV, has started ammunition integration tests, marking another milestone in its development process. The TB3 UAV took off on January 17, Friday, from the Baykar Flight Training and Test Center in Keşan, Edirne, with two MAM-T munitions developed by Roketsan. The Bayraktar TB3, which was in the air to conduct a firing test, successfully hit the designated target with its first shot using the ASELFLIR-500 Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Targeting System developed by Aselsan. The armed Bayraktar TB3 UAV will continue its payload and ammunition integration tests according to the established test schedule.

NATIONAL UAV SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED TEST AT AN AVERAGE ALTITUDE OF 20,000 FEET

The Bayraktar TB3 UAV, developed nationally and uniquely by Baykar, successfully took off from the short runway of TCG Anadolu, which has a 12-degree inclined ramp, on November 19. Performing a historic test flight of 46 minutes at the meeting point of the Aegean and Mediterranean, the Bayraktar TB3 successfully landed on the same short runway without using any landing support equipment, achieving a world first. The Bayraktar TB3 UAV continued its ship tests successfully, making two more successful takeoffs and landings without using landing support equipment during the second flight test conducted on the TCG Anadolu ship sailing off the coast of Çanakkale. The national UAV, which successfully executed the test parameters, completed the test at an average altitude of 20,000 feet.

TO THE HIGHEST WITH LOCAL ENGINE

The Bayraktar TB3 UAV successfully completed the High Altitude System Performance Test, reaching an altitude of 36,310 feet during a flight conducted on June 25, 2024, at the Baykar Flight Training and Test Center in Keşan, Edirne. Taking off with the locally developed PD-170 engine by TEI, the national UAV has thus crossed another critical threshold. The altitude record in our national aviation history belongs to the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA, which was developed nationally and uniquely by Baykar, with an altitude of 45,118 feet.

TOTAL FLIGHT TIME EXCEEDED 887 HOURS

To date, the Bayraktar TB3 UAV has remained in the air for a total of 887 hours and 23 minutes during test flights. The national UAV remained in the air for 32 hours without landing during a long flight test conducted on December 20, 2023, covering a distance of 5,700 kilometers in the sky.

NATIONAL UAV EQUIPPED WITH NATIONAL CAMERA

The Bayraktar TB3 UAV flew for the first time on March 26, 2024, with the ASELFLIR-500, which was developed nationally by Aselsan. In the conducted test, the integration of the ASELFLIR-500 Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Targeting System, which has the highest performance compared to its counterparts in the world, was successfully achieved.

OVERSEAS POWER BOOSTER

The Bayraktar TB3 UAV will be a leading unmanned aerial vehicle in its class with its foldable wing structure and capabilities. The national UAV will also have beyond-line-of-sight communication capabilities, allowing it to be controlled from very long distances. Thus, it will carry out reconnaissance-surveillance, intelligence, and attack missions against overseas targets with its smart munitions, providing a multiplier effect in Turkey's deterrent power.

EXPORT CHAMPION

Baykar, which has carried out all its projects with its own resources since the beginning, has obtained 83% of its total revenue from exports since the start of the UAV R&D process in 2003. In 2023, Baykar achieved an export of 1.8 billion dollars and ranked among the top 10 companies with the highest exports in all sectors in our country. Baykar, which received the Export Champions Award, has been the export leader in the defense and aviation sector according to the data from the Presidency of Defense Industries and the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) in 2021, 2022, and 2023. In recent years, Baykar has obtained more than 90% of its revenue from exports, and in 2023, it alone accounted for one-third of the defense and aviation sector's exports. Currently, 97.5% of the contracts signed by Baykar, the world's largest unmanned aerial vehicle company, are export-related. Export agreements have been signed with a total of 35 countries, including 34 countries for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV and 10 countries for the Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA.
