The General President of the BBP, Mustafa Destici, commented on the verdict in the Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi case, stating, "Two defendants were sentenced to 24 years in prison. Two defendants were acquitted. Firstly, we do not find the acquittal decisions to be correct. We expect the prosecution's appeal against these acquittal decisions to be evaluated, and for them to receive the punishments they deserve. Because they are involved in the incident, there are conversations and threats against the family."

BBP leader Mustafa Destici spoke at a press conference held at the party's headquarters. In his speech, Destici expressed his hopes that the results of the presidential election won by the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Chairman Tufan Erhürman would be beneficial for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the Turkish nation, and the world, saying, "I pray to God that the election results will be good for the Turkish people of Northern Cyprus, the Republic of Turkey, and the Turkish nation and the world. I congratulate the president-elect and wish him success. We have infinite respect for the choice of the Turkish Cypriot people. Just as we defend the national will in Turkey, we defend the will of the people there as well.
The elected President Tufan Erhürman stated in a statement he made on election night that he would consult with Turkey in all discussions and that he would not engage in any discussions without informing Turkey or speaking with Turkey. We said that we expect him to carry out a presidency in accordance with this statement. Because the Turkish people living on the island of Cyprus are our indispensable part. I wish the elections to be beneficial for the people of Cyprus and Turkey. Long live the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and no matter what happens, with God's permission, it will remain Turkish and will always be Turkish," he said.
"WE WANT OUR LAWS TO BE ARRANGED ACCORDING TO ISLAMIC BELIEFS"
Destici, regarding the verdict in the case of Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi (15) who was stabbed to death, said, "Two defendants were sentenced to 24 years in prison. Two defendants were acquitted. First of all, we do not find the acquittal decisions correct. We expect the prosecution's appeal against these acquittal decisions to be evaluated, and that they receive the punishments they deserve. Because they are involved in the incident, there are conversations, victory signs, and threats to the family. While all of this is as clear as day, how can they be acquitted? Just as it tears the heart of that mother, it wounds our consciences as well. There is no need to be a Muslim in Turkey for this. It is enough to be a human being and to have a conscience. They sentenced the two defendants to 24 years each. So how long will they actually serve? 16 years. 9 years in closed, 6 years in open. In other words, you will be free after 15 years. You will kill a 15-year-old child for no reason and serve 15 years and get out. Ready to commit crimes again like machines. I do not blame the judge, the jurist, or the prosecutor who made this decision. They made such a decision according to the law in front of them. There is nothing they can do. They gave the maximum penalty in the law. The problem lies in our penal laws. We want these laws to be changed immediately and for those who deserve to receive the punishments they deserve, we want the thick rope to be put around their necks. If someone has killed another unjustly, they should face death. Our belief, our customs, our traditions, and our practices require this. We are not Westerners, we are not Christians. We are Turks, we are Muslims. We want our laws to be arranged according to the customs of the Turk, the traditions, and the Islamic faith. That's all," he stated.
"THEY CONTINUE TO USE DIVISIVE LANGUAGE"
Destici, regarding the process of a Terror-Free Turkey, said, "We all want a terror-free Turkey. We all want the terrorist organization to lay down its arms. Everyone of sound mind wants this. As it was said from the beginning, without bargaining, without conditions, without negotiations; the terrorist organization will lay down its arms, let them do so. It is not enough to throw 20-30 weapons into a pit and burn them. All of them must lay down their arms. Not just those in Turkey, they are not even in Turkey. They are in the Parliament. They need to be cleaned out. They are in the media, in capital, and in so-called civil society organizations. They also need to be cleaned out. If the issue is the laying down of arms and the dissolution of the terrorist organization, then those in Iraq, Iran, and Syria will all lay down their arms. They will dissolve themselves. They will close their offices in Europe and their parties in Turkey. They will establish a structure that will be a party of Turkey. But when you look at the language, it is like a shoe. They continue to use divisive language. Are we their enemies? Because we are here for the existence of our state, the integrity of our country, and the unity and brotherhood of our nation. Whoever tries to disrupt this unity, togetherness, and brotherhood, we are their enemies and we stand firmly against them. We speak like this, and they send us threats. From both inside Turkey and from Iraq and Syria. We will not bow to your threats. Do not see this case as just a political party. This is the Great Unity Party. Founded under the leadership of martyr Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu, it is the party of patriots, nationalists, and most importantly, those who have dedicated themselves to their religion, nation, homeland, and humanity. Your threats are nothing to us. We do not see death as an end. We are those who see death as a new beginning," he said.
"LIMIT PARLIAMENTARY IMMUNITY TO THE PODIUM ONLY"
Destici also commented on parliamentary immunity, saying, "CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır makes heavy insults against the president elected by the majority of the people. If there were no parliamentary immunity, could he make these insults? He could not. Is parliamentary immunity for this? Especially for 3-5 members of parliament whose languages, hands, and morals are dirty, these are obvious. I do not want to name names. Everyone knows. These individuals already have a lot of indictments. Their immunity should be lifted immediately, and they should be sent to the judiciary. Let's see if after that, others dare to commit such crimes or not. Parliamentary immunity does not give anyone the right to engage in corruption or smuggling. Whether it is the president or a member of parliament or someone from another political party, it does not give the right to insult another. Our call to the Parliament is to limit parliamentary immunity to the podium only," he said.
