Beyonce's charity, BeyGOOD, donated $2.5 million to the Los Angeles Fire Relief Fund to combat the ongoing fires in Southern California. The 43-year-old famous singer aims to help the victims of the fire disaster that began on Tuesday with strong Santa Ana winds and has resulted in 24 fatalities as of Sunday. The Pacific Palisades and Eaton fires alone destroyed approximately 12,000 structures and scorched a total of 37,830 acres. In a post shared on the foundation's Instagram page on Sunday, it was announced that Beyonce donated to the fund to help "families affected by the wildfires." The post stated, "Los Angeles, we stand with you. BeyGOOD is taking action by donating $2.5 million to the LA Fire Relief Fund." "The donation is allocated to assist families who lost their homes in the Altadena/Pasadena area and to help churches and community centers meet the urgent needs of those affected by the fire." Founded by the award-winning artist in 2013, the foundation focuses on economic equality by "supporting disadvantaged and under-resourced programs," according to its official website. Beyonce had previously donated $6 million to provide mental health support during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the same year, she donated $500,000 through BeyGOOD to help those at risk of losing their homes due to the pandemic. In February 2024, the artist donated another $500,000 to beauty schools and salons, stating, "We celebrate the critical importance of supporting the impact of professional stylists on hair health and the beauty community."
