The U.S. media has claimed that the Trump administration is discussing a $30 billion aid plan for "civilian nuclear programs" in order to bring Iran to the negotiating table following a ceasefire in the war.
At the end of the 12-day war, it was claimed that the US took new steps to bring Iran's nuclear facilities back to the negotiating table.
CNN reported that the administration of US President Donald Trump discussed providing assistance for "civil nuclear programs" in an effort to draw Iran to the negotiating table following the tensions. According to CNN's report, sources with knowledge of the matter stated that the US continued to engage in discussions with Iran during the crisis that escalated due to tensions between Iran and Israel and the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, as well as in the period following the announcement of a ceasefire.
A $30 BILLION PLAN
Sources indicated that various proposals were presented to bring Iran to the negotiating table, claiming that details were discussed in a meeting at the White House between Trump's Special Representative Steve Witkoff and partners from Gulf countries prior to the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities.
Sources alleged that one of the conditions discussed in the meeting was to provide approximately $20 to $30 billion in aid for a new nuclear program aimed solely at civil energy production, which does not involve uranium enrichment activities, and that this money was planned to come from Arab partners.
REMOVAL OF SANCTIONS IS ALSO ON THE AGENDA
Additionally, sources claimed that among the other proposals presented were the removal of certain sanctions against Iran and allowing access to the $6 billion currently held in foreign bank accounts, which is restricted from being used freely.
