The police officer Süleyman Ay, who was shot by social media influencer Büşra Karademir with a gun in Izmir, was revealed to have harassed the woman before the incident, and Karademir shot Ay because of this. While the police officer faces up to 36 and a half years in prison, the woman is being tried with a demand for up to 18 years in prison. Süleyman Ay, the defendant, faces imprisonment from 1 to 3 years for "violating the inviolability of residence in a qualified manner," from 3 to 10.5 years for "depriving a person of their liberty for sexual purposes by using force, threat, or deceit," from 7.5 to 15 years for "attempted sexual assault in a qualified manner," from 6 months to 3 years for "chain sexual harassment," and from 2 to 5 years for "sexual assault by harassment." WOMAN FACES UP TO 18 YEARS IN PRISONOn the other hand, Büşra Karademir faces imprisonment from 9 to 15 years for the crime of "attempted murder with intent" and from 1 to 3 years for the crime of "purchasing, carrying, or possessing firearms and ammunition without a license," totaling up to 18 years.
