A 51-year-old female pilot of British Airways in England caused a disturbance on a flight while under the influence of alcohol. It was learned that the drunken pilot would take control of another plane after a 57-minute journey to London.
DEPARTURE CANCELLED
According to a report in The Sun, the BA1457 flight from Edinburgh to London returned to the stand after the captain decided to abort the takeoff.
CURSED AT PASSENGERS
The pilot, under the influence of alcohol, cursed at those around her and exhibited aggressive behavior. One eyewitness stated, "She was cursing and behaving incredibly aggressively towards the other passengers."
RESISTED POLICE
The drunken pilot was attempted to be detained by the police. However, it was reported that she violently resisted during the arrest. Following the incident, the pilot was immediately suspended from duty.
FLIGHT DELAYED BY 1.5 HOURS
Due to the altercation, the flight was carried out with an approximately one and a half hour delay. The Scottish Police stated, "A woman was arrested and charged in connection with aviation offenses and assaults." British Airways commented, "It would not be appropriate to comment while the police investigation is ongoing."
