In Iran, which has been embroiled in a bloody war with Israel for four days, President Pezeshkian stated, "We are not in pursuit of nuclear weapons. We have no intention of possessing such weapons." Pezeshkian called on the public to unite, setting aside their differences, and said, "We need to put our differences aside and stand strong against the aggression of the genocidal enemy."
The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, made statements in the Parliament regarding Israel's ongoing attacks.
Pezeshkian said, "The enemy cannot remove us and the nation from the scene by beating, killing, and organizing assassinations. Because for every hero whose flag has fallen, there are hundreds of other heroes who will take up the flag and stand against the oppression, injustice, crime, and betrayal committed by these cowards."
"WE ARE NOT AFTER NUCLEAR WEAPONS"
Pezeshkian, stating that Iranians are not aggressive and that his government is negotiating with the U.S. regarding the nuclear program, said, "We are not after nuclear weapons. We have no intention of possessing such weapons."
"WE WILL CONTINUE TO ENRICH URANIUM"
However, Pezeshkian, asserting that Iran has the "right to benefit from nuclear energy," promised that the country will continue to enrich uranium for energy purposes.
"WE MUST PUT ASIDE OUR DIFFERENCES"
Pointing out the dangers created by the conflict with Israel, Pezeshkian called on the public to set aside problems and differences and unite. Pezeshkian stated, "We must put aside our differences. We need to stand strong against the aggression of the genocidal and guilty enemy."
ISRAEL-IRAN WAR
On June 13, Israel launched extensive attacks targeting the Iranian military's high command, primarily focusing on nuclear facilities in various cities of Iran. While the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, the Commander of the Revolutionary Guards, and several senior commanders, along with 9 nuclear scientists, lost their lives in the attacks, the total civilian death toll was reported to be 224.
In the Iranian military's retaliatory strikes against Israel with ballistic missiles, it was reported that 16 people were killed and over 400 were injured. Many countries, including Turkey, condemned Israel.
