"THOSE WHO SPEAK ILL OF ATATÜRK ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN A CHIMPANZEE"
In response to Sabancı's words, "There is a smear campaign against Atatürk, but the sun cannot be covered with mud," Şengör made highly talked-about statements. He stated, "Those who speak ill of Atatürk are no different than a chimpanzee in terms of intelligence," and continued, "You look at what the man has done; thanks to him, you are comfortable. This is a severe example of backwardness."
WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO SAY TO ATATÜRK?
Answering the question, "If Atatürk were to come before you, what would you want to say?" Şengör expressed the following: "Pasha, have I been able to give back what you provided me? Thanks to you, my family became wealthy. Thanks to you, there were beautiful schools. Thanks to you, Istanbul Technical University became a proper university. I worked there for 40 years; was I able to please you?"
