In an operation conducted in Bursa, a criminal network that altered the chassis numbers of stolen, smuggled, and seized vehicles and released them into the market was dismantled. As a result of the planned work by police teams, 28 vehicles were seized and 11 suspects were taken into custody. Among the suspects captured during searches at 8 residences and 2 workplaces, 3 were arrested by court order, while 2 were released under judicial supervision.
In an operation targeting individuals determined to have altered chassis numbers of stolen, smuggled, and seized vehicles and released 'changed' vehicles to the market in Bursa, 28 vehicles were seized, and 3 of the 11 suspects taken into custody were arrested.
As part of the planned work carried out by the Auto Theft Bureau of the Provincial Security Directorate's Public Order Branch, it was detected that chassis numbers of stolen, smuggled, and seized vehicles were altered and released to the market. In the investigations, 28 vehicles identified with altered chassis numbers were seized.
8 RESIDENCES AND 2 WORKPLACES SEARCHED
Legal proceedings were initiated against 12 individuals identified as involved in vehicle crimes in the city center of Bursa, while it was determined that 1 of the suspects was in Muğla and information was provided to the relevant units. On May 19, a simultaneous operation was conducted across Bursa to capture the other 11 suspects. The suspects were apprehended during searches of 8 residences and 2 workplaces and taken into custody.
After their processing at the police station, 6 suspects were released, while 5 were referred to the courthouse. Of the suspects brought before the court, 2 were released under judicial control, and 3 were arrested.
