The dangerous climb continues at the zero point of the border. The Russian army has launched an operation in Aleppo, which has been captured by anti-regime opposition groups in Syria.

As clashes continue between the regime's opposing forces and Assad regime soldiers in Syria, Russia's move will escalate the chaos in the region. The Russian army reported that an operation was launched against the armed group Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) advancing in Aleppo, northwest Syria, and that airstrikes were carried out on the targets.

DISPERSAL OPERATION

Clashes between the Bashar Assad regime and the armed group Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Aleppo, northwest Syria, have been ongoing for three days. According to reports in Russian media, the Russian army announced that an operation was launched against the armed group Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) advancing in Aleppo and that airstrikes were conducted as part of a "dispersal operation."

ROCKET ATTACKS HAVE BEGUN

Reports stated that the spokesperson for the Syrian Reconciliation Center of the Ministry of Defense announced, "Russian air forces are conducting rocket attacks on the equipment and manpower of armed groups, checkpoints, warehouses, and artillery positions." Meanwhile, HTS entered the country's second-largest city, Aleppo, for the first time since regime forces retook the city in 2016.

12 CIVILIANS LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE PREVIOUS ATTACK

In an attack carried out by Russian warplanes yesterday on the Daret Izze and Atarib districts in the west of Aleppo province, 12 civilians lost their lives, and at least 30 civilians were injured. According to information obtained from an aircraft observation post belonging to the opposition, Russian warplanes taking off from Hmeimim Air Base in Latakia province conducted airstrikes on civilian settlements in Daret Izze and Atarib. According to sources from the Civil Defense (White Helmets), 4 civilians were killed in Daret Izze, and 8 civilians lost their lives in Atarib as a result of the attacks. Among the injured, at least 30 civilians, including 7 children, were taken to nearby hospitals.

OPPOSITION FORCES IN ALEPPO CITY CENTER

Opposition armed groups, which have been advancing towards the city center of Aleppo from the west while clashing with regime forces for three days, entered the city center from the outer neighborhoods of Hamdaniyye, Yeni Halep, and Zehra by breaking through the defense lines of regime forces around noon. The groups also captured the Serakib district, where the M4 and M5 highways intersect in southeastern Idlib, after surrounding it from the north and south. In the ongoing clashes for three days, armed groups have captured a total of 108 settlements and points, including 86 in the rural areas of Aleppo and 22 in Idlib. During this period, opposition groups took control of at least 850 square kilometers of territory in Aleppo and Idlib provinces. Meanwhile, in an airstrike carried out by Russian warplanes on the Mare district in northern Aleppo this evening, 8 members of the Syrian National Army were killed.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Clashes first began on the morning of November 27 in the western rural areas of Aleppo province. On November 27-28, opposition armed groups rapidly advanced from the western rural areas of Aleppo towards the center, capturing numerous regions in the rural areas of Idlib from the second day of the clashes. As the clashes began to intensify in the center of Aleppo, many people close to the regime started fleeing from Aleppo to Damascus. Opposition armed groups that entered the city center of Aleppo around noon reached the middle parts of the city center in the evening.
