Chilling details have emerged in the murder of Zihni Cankurtaran, who was killed by his son with an axe during a dispute over the sale of property in Tokat. It was determined that the suspect hid his father's body in the pool house of a site and poured lime over it to prevent the body from smelling. Following a tip-off from Cankurtaran's daughters in Bursa, five more people were detained in connection with the murder.
Chilling details have emerged regarding the murder of Zihni Cankurtaran (79), who was killed with an axe by his son Mustafa Cankurtaran in the central Topçam neighborhood of Tokat.
HE KILLED HIS FATHER WITH AN AXE OVER A PROPERTY DISPUTE According to allegations, a dispute arose between Zihni Cankurtaran, who had recently returned to his hometown Tokat from Greece, and his son Mustafa Cankurtaran over the sale of properties belonging to his father. In the altercation that turned into a fight, Mustafa Cankurtaran killed his father with an axe.

After the investigations at the crime scene, Zihni Cankurtaran's lifeless body was taken to the morgue of Tokat State Hospital for an autopsy.
THE REPORT FROM HIS DAUGHTERS IN BURSA REVEALED THE INCIDENT His daughters in Bursa, who had not heard from Zihni Cankurtaran for a long time, became suspicious and reported the situation to the police. Under the coordination of the Tokat Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Homicide Bureau conducted an investigation. After technical and physical surveillance, Mustafa Cankurtaran was detained yesterday.
5 MORE SUSPECTS HAVE BEEN DETAINED It was learned that the suspect confessed to the murder during his interrogation at the police station. Following Cankurtaran, 5 more suspects deemed to be related to the incident were also detained. The investigation is ongoing.
