CHP İzmir Provincial Chairman Utku Gümrükçü announced that he dismissed three district chairmen whom he accused of fracturing the CHP organization, stating, "We will not allow the organization of another party under the roof of the Republican People's Party."

CHP Izmir Provincial Chairman Utku Gümrükçü stated that they are in an intensive working period as the Izmir Provincial Organization, and noted that CHP's political goal is to spread the values of Izmir across Turkey.

I said we will wage ideological and organizational struggle with these colleagues. We removed these three colleagues we identified, who used the authority they received from the CHP organization to fragment the Republican People's Party organization and attempt to force CHP-elected council members and mayors to resign from CHP."
"REMOVALS FROM DUTY WILL CONTINUE" Gümrükçü also indicated that further removals from duty will follow, stating, "Our executive board continues. If there is an appointment in their place, we will share that with you during the day through our press unit; both if there are new removals and new appointments."
