CHP lawmaker's coffin protest in Parliament: I didn't expect you to be this afraid.

During the budget discussions in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM), CHP Adana Deputy Ayhan Barut wanted to take the podium with a symbolic small coffin labeled "AK Party." While TBMM Deputy Speaker Bekir Bozdağ did not allow this, CHP's Barut remarked, "I didn't expect you to be this afraid."

In the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the budgets of the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the year 2025 were approved. The budget discussions were marked by the action of CHP Adana Deputy Ayhan Barut.

BARUT WANTED TO STEP ONTO THE PODIUM WITH A COFFIN IN HAND

CHP Deputy Barut, who voiced the problems of farmers, wanted to step onto the podium with a small symbolic coffin that had "AK Party" written on it. TBMM Deputy Speaker Bekir Bozdağ stated that this would constitute a disciplinary offense according to the TBMM Internal Regulations and did not allow the situation.

"IT WAS A HARMLESS ACTION"

Following this, CHP Deputy Barut placed the coffin in front of the CHP group row and stepped onto the podium. CHP Deputy Barut said, "It was a harmless action. But I didn't expect you to be this scared."
