CHP Keşan District Directorate distributed lokma in the town square to protest Özcan's transition to AK Party, while CHP District Chair Anıl Çakır's statement, "A liberation has occurred for the Republican People's Party," drew attention.
THEY DISTRIBUTED LOKMA IN THE TOWN SQUARE
At the event organized by the CHP Keşan District Directorate, Keşan Mayor Mehmet Özcan's transition to the AK Party was protested. Lokma was offered to citizens in the town square, with CHP Edirne MP Ahmet Baran Yazgan, Edirne Mayor Filiz Gencan, CHP Edirne Provincial Chair Yücel Balkanlı, and district mayors also attending.

CHP Keşan District Chair Anıl Çakır, speaking during the lokma distribution, criticized Mehmet Özcan's transition to the AK Party with harsh words.
Çakır said, "No one should be upset, don't see this as a loss. There is no place for traitors or betrayers in the Republican People's Party. A liberation has occurred for the Republican People's Party. We are distributing lokma in honor of that liberation."
HE JOINED AK PARTY
Keşan Mayor Mehmet Özcan, elected from CHP, joined AK Party at a ceremony held after resigning from his party. AK Party Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned Özcan's badge. While Özcan's party change caused reactions in the CHP organization, the lokma distribution in Keşan became a symbol of this reaction.
