CHP addressed the social events that occurred in Kayseri, Istanbul, Gaziantep, Hatay, and Antalya and listed their solution proposals in 10 points. The points included the failure of Syria and refugee policies, Turkey becoming a hostage to this crisis, and Turkey adhering to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of its neighbors.
THE EVENTS ARE GROWING
The events that started in Kayseri spread to other cities. Later, anti-Turkey protests were organized in El-Bab and Azez. Turkish flags at the border were attacked. Some trucks from Turkey were set on fire.
CHP'S RESPONSE TO ERDOĞAN, WHO HOLDS THE OPPOSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EVENTS
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who made a statement about the issue, stated that the opposition is responsible for the events and said, "The reason for the situation caused by a small group in Kayseri is the opposition's poisonous rhetoric. Vandalism is unacceptable." CHP, on the other hand, stated on social media that the government's Syria and refugee policies have failed.
Here are the 10 points listed by CHP:
- Turkey's Middle East policy, Syria policy, and refugee policy have collapsed and failed.
- Erdoğan and the AKP government are the main culprits of this disastrous situation.
- The government has not only failed to solve the crisis it caused in Syria but also made Turkey a hostage to this crisis.
- While Erdoğan causes the destruction of Syria and turns Turkey into the world's refugee depot, he does not hesitate to negotiate with Europe over the lives of these people.
- The government has ignored the social, political, economic, and demographic problems caused by the increasing number of refugees in Turkey and has not made any effort to solve even one of these problems.
- Turkey should adhere to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of its neighbors, which is the cornerstone of the Atatürk era, not only in words but also in practice.
- Turkey should redefine its Syria policy and realize that the continuation of the current status quo has reached a deadlock. It is unacceptable for the members of the FSA, whose salaries are paid by Turkey, to burn the Turkish flag and damage Turkish goods.
- The Erdoğan government should immediately publish a realistic and implementable roadmap for the solution of the problem, including the return of refugees.
- The normalization process with the Assad regime should continue.
- We call on our citizens to be moderate and cautious in such environments and against possible provocations.
