Manisa Governorate announced last week with a decision sent to district governorships that collective entertainment events such as weddings, engagements, and circumcision ceremonies held on the streets within the provincial borders, except for rural areas, are banned. It was announced that the decision was taken due to the intense complaints from the citizens and the difficulty of ambulances and fire trucks to pass through the incident scene, especially due to the closure of the streets.

The Manisa Governorship has issued a new decision banning mass entertainment events such as weddings, engagements, henna nights, and circumcision ceremonies held on the streets within the city limits, except for rural areas. The decision covers weddings and ceremonies in the city center, while it was stated that the ban does not apply to events in rural neighborhoods.

CITIZENS COMPLAINED

In the statement made by the Governorship, it was emphasized that these events held on the streets cause excessive noise and numerous complaints have been received from citizens. The statement also highlighted the inconvenience experienced by the elderly, babies, patients, and students, and stated that street weddings negatively affect the education process in nearby schools, especially with the start of the school year. Furthermore, it was emphasized that the closure of streets due to these events also makes it difficult for emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks to pass.

CAUSING SERIOUS PROBLEMS IN CITY CENTERS

The Manisa Governorship emphasized that the ban was implemented to protect public peace and ensure public health. It was stated that these events, which cause noise pollution as well as disruptions in traffic and emergency healthcare services, cause serious problems especially in city centers. The Governorship stated that strict inspections will be carried out by relevant law enforcement and municipal units to enforce this ban. It was also announced that the provisions of Article 36 titled "Noise" of the Administrative Offenses Law will be applied to those who do not comply.
