12.10.2024 16:40

Clinical psychologist Kahraman Güler stated that the feeling of lack of belonging can lead individuals to dangerous pursuits. He emphasized that children's inability to connect with an authority figure at home or their fathers, and their feelings of worthlessness, can have dangerous consequences. Güler pointed out that negative experiences such as violence, neglect, and abuse undermine children's trust in their families, and he noted that families play a significant role in addressing this issue.

Clinical Psychologist and Faculty Member of the Psychology Department at Mudanya University, Dr. Kahraman Güler, was a guest of presenter Melis Yaşar in the Haberler.com studio. Güler made important statements about how people can take dangerous paths when they feel a sense of belonginglessness.

BELONGINGNESS DRIVES TO DANGEROUS PURSUITS

Güler stated that children not being able to connect to an authority figure at home or their fathers, and not feeling valuable, can have dangerous consequences. He emphasized that individuals who do not find love and trust from their families can engage in dangerous pursuits such as joining organizations. "In such a situation, when children feel they are not valued, they may try to prove themselves in these environments by joining organizations and even taking code names," he said.

HOW DOES VIOLENCE AND ABUSE AFFECT CHILDREN?

Güler emphasized that negative experiences such as violence, neglect, and abuse undermine children's trust in their families, stating that children who do not receive enough love from their parents seek this love and trust outside. He added, "When they feel valued a little, they can easily be persuaded by those who provide this trust." He pointed out that especially children who grow up without love can easily turn to any direction where they find love.

Dr. Güler stated, "You can make children who have grown up without love do anything with love," expressing how the search for love can leave children defenseless. He highlighted the significant impact of family bonds and healthy communication on children, emphasizing that families play a crucial role in solving this problem.
