The 8-year-old Narin, who went missing 19 days ago in Diyarbakır, received sad news today. The lifeless body of the little girl was found in a sack in the bed of a stream 2 km away. STATEMENTS CAME ONE AFTER ANOTHERAfter the development that plunged Turkey into mourning, many ministers and officials made statements, and finally, a striking message came from the Communication Director Fahrettin Altun. Altun stated that President Erdogan instructed the investigation to continue meticulously and said, "It is heartbreaking that the lifeless body of our Narin, who went missing 19 days ago in Diyarbakır Bağlar and has been searched by our security units from the first minute, has been found. "THOSE WHO HARMED HER WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE BEFORE JUSTICE"Our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan closely follows the issue in order for the ongoing investigation to continue meticulously and for those who harmed Narin to be held accountable before justice and for the incident to be fully clarified. We pray for mercy for our Narin. May her place be heaven," he said. WHAT HAPPENED?Narin Güran, who went to the Quran course in Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district on August 21, did not return home after the course, and her family searched for her with their own means. When no results were obtained from the search, Narin's father Arif Güran reported that his daughter was missing on the same day around 20:00. As a result, many search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area, and searches were conducted in houses in the neighborhood and vehicles entering the village. While the search was ongoing, Narin Güran's brother E.G. (18) was detained due to bite marks on his arm. When it could not be determined whether the bite marks belonged to Narin in the examination at Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute, E.G. was released. Then Narin's uncle, who is also the muhtar (village head) of rural Tavşantepe neighborhood, Salim Güran, was detained. Salim Güran, whose DNA samples taken from his car matched the DNA samples on Narin's clothes, was arrested for "intentional killing" and "deprivation of liberty." The teams, who focused on previously searched areas again, conducted a search in the Eğertutmaz Stream, 2 kilometers away from the neighborhood, and found Narin's lifeless body on the 19th day. It was determined that Narin was killed and then thrown into the stream in a sack, which was covered with stones.
