Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who was released after benefiting from effective remorse following his arrest in the investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), made statements that will have a significant impact on the political arena. Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who was arrested on the grounds of being the "leader of a criminal organization" in the investigation conducted against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), later released by benefiting from effective remorse, made striking statements. Speaking to journalist Nuray Başaran on the TYT channel, Aktaş stated that the political rivalry between Ekrem İmamoğlu and former Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat brought corruption to light.
"THEY REPORTED EACH OTHER"
Aktaş said, "There was a serious rivalry between İmamoğlu and Akpolat that started at the Istanbul provincial congress and district congresses. Due to this fight and political struggle, corruption exploded as a result of them reporting each other."
"THE FIRST OPERATION WAS DUE TO POLITICAL STRUGGLE"
Claiming that the first operation against Beşiktaş Municipality was a result of this struggle, Aktaş stated that there were two different teams within the municipality and that he tried not to take sides. Aktaş alleged that a municipal company vehicle was attempted to be sold to them at a high price, and this situation was reported from within.
"I CHOSE EFFECTIVE REMORSE OF MY OWN FREE WILL"
Stating that he was not under any pressure, Aktaş said, "I made the decision to benefit from effective remorse of my own free will. I took this step to reveal the processes that my relatives and I experienced in my business life and to assist the state. I collected the documents until the end of April and then submitted my application."
