The Ministry of National Defense stated regarding reports that the Greek Cypriot Administration has procured an air defense system from Israel, "Any attempts to disrupt the balance on the island are being closely monitored, and all necessary measures are being taken for the security and peace of the TRNC."
The Ministry of National Defense Press and Public Relations Advisor and the Ministry Spokesperson Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk held a weekly press conference at the Ministry's Martyr Journalist Hasan Tahsin Press Information Hall.

Regarding the news that the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA) has procured an air defense system from Israel, Ministry sources stated the following:
"We are closely monitoring the news in the press regarding the GCA's procurement of an Air Defense System from Israel. We would like to remind once again that the ongoing armament efforts of the GCA and activities that could undermine peace and stability on the Island could have dangerous consequences.
Every attempt to disrupt the balance on the Island is being carefully monitored, and all necessary measures are being taken for the security and peace of the TRNC. Turkey stands by and supports the TRNC today, just as it did yesterday. The Turkish Cypriot people are also under the guarantee of Turkey.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
It was claimed that the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA) had received the "Iron Dome" air defense system from Israel after a 2-year waiting period. The images that surfaced online regarding the shipment had sparked significant controversy.
