While the conflicts in the Middle East have led to talks of a Third World War, another crisis erupted on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was reported that clashes broke out around 7:00 PM on the border of the two countries, and heavy weapons were used during the ongoing clashes.
There has been a clash between security forces on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. According to Afghan media, the clash occurred around 7:00 pm in the Mandozai district of Host province, near the border of the two countries.
HEAVY WEAPONS WERE USED
It is claimed that the clash occurred because Afghan security forces were building a checkpoint on the border. It is also reported that heavy weapons were used in the ongoing clash. While the Afghan government has not yet made a statement regarding the issue, social media posts indicate intense fighting between the parties.
BORDER DISPUTES BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES
The current Afghan government, as well as previous governments, do not recognize the Durand Line as the official border between the two countries. On the other hand, Pakistan claims that Afghanistan plays a significant role in the terrorist attacks that occur on its own territory.
The Islamabad administration alleges that the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) has established a presence in Afghanistan and that the Afghan government has not taken any measures against this organization. The Afghan government, however, denies Pakistan's claims and argues that they are not responsible for the security problems in the country. Border disputes between Afghanistan and Pakistan continue, and armed clashes resulting in deaths occasionally occur between the security forces of the two countries.
