FIRE BROKE OUT AT MIDNIGHT

The fire occurred in the Çaputçu neighborhood of the central Seyhan district in Adana. According to allegations, sparks from electrical wires first ignited a tent.

The flames, which grew rapidly, spread to the adjacent containers. In the fire that broke out at midnight, 4 tents and 3 containers became completely unusable.

13 PEOPLE ESCAPED DEATH

It was learned that 13 people living in the area narrowly escaped disaster during the fire. Mother Zehra Taş, who was said to be taking medication for an illness and therefore unable to sleep, went outside after hearing a noise.

Noticing the flames, mother Taş shouted to alert those nearby and ensured that the family members sleeping inside got out.

“IF MY MOM HADN’T BEEN AWAKE, WE WOULD ALL HAVE BEEN GONE”

İsmail Taş, who said all his belongings burned in the fire, described their terrifying moments.

Taş said, “Our tents burned due to sparks from the electrical cables. Then the containers next to them also caught fire. The incident happened around 12 at night. I was sleeping; my mother woke me up. If my mother had been asleep too, we would all have been gone. She can’t sleep at night because of her medication. I say there is good in everything. We survived thanks to our mother.”

Mother Zehra Taş, who first noticed the flames, described her fear with these words:

“The fire broke out; we have nothing left. I took my medication and was trying to sleep. I heard a sound; when I looked, the fire had started. They were all inside. If I hadn’t been awake, they would all have been gone.”

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

No loss of life occurred in the fire, which was extinguished by fire brigade intervention. It was learned that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
