The AK Party is preparing to implement mandatory pre-marriage education and psychological supervision to strengthen the family institution and prevent divorces.

COUPLES TO BE EVALUATED PSYCHOSOCIALLY

As part of the new system, couples who are going to marry will undergo not only a health check but also a psychosocial evaluation. This way, tendencies towards violence, psychological disorders, or socioeconomic mismatches will be detected early to prevent wrong marriages.

WILL ALSO COVER AFTER MARRIAGE

The consultancy mechanism to be established will cover not only the pre-marriage period but also the post-marriage period. In case of disputes between couples, expert support will be provided to resolve the issues. If divorce becomes inevitable, proper guidance services will be offered to the parties.

"IT WILL BE A SIGNIFICANT STEP FOR A STRONG FAMILY STRUCTURE"

According to a report by Türkiye Gazetesi, AK Party officials stated that many couples hide situations that could cause problems after marriage from each other, and made the following assessment:

"Psychological disorders, tendencies towards violence, or cultural differences are often not honestly communicated. This masking can lead to severe incompatibility and divorces in the future. The pre-marriage psychosocial support system will enable couples to take more transparent and conscious steps. It will be a significant step for a strong family structure."

THE FIRST STEP WILL BE TAKEN IN ERZURUM

To accelerate the project, a "Digital Education and Psychosocial Support Workshop" will be held in Erzurum on Friday (September 19) under the leadership of the AK Party Women's Branch. In addition to the ministries of Justice, Health, and Family and Social Services, academics and field experts will also participate in the workshop.
