Fenerbahçe's Filipe Luis, the Flamengo coach who was approached after Jose Mourinho, explained why he turned down the offer. The Brazilian coach stated, "It wasn't the right time; I have responsibilities towards my club and my players."
After Fenerbahçe parted ways with Jose Mourinho, one of the names they considered was Flamengo's head coach Filipe Luis, who announced that he did not accept the offer from the yellow-blues.
"IT WAS NOT THE RIGHT TIME"
The Brazilian coach made the following statement regarding the offer he received:
"I am happy when other clubs show interest in me because it shows that the work you do is appreciated. But it was not the right time. I know my goal, and I am very clear about it. I have planned everything I want regarding my life and career, and this offer was not the right time. I also have responsibilities towards the club and the players. I plan to fulfill that."
ALI KOÇ'S STATEMENT
Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç recently stated in a live broadcast regarding Filipe Luis, "Filipe Luis is doing wonders at Flamengo. He wanted us very much too, but he said, 'We can talk in December.'
