Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) President İmamoğlu filed a criminal complaint against the expert S.B., whom he brought to the agenda during a press conference held about two weeks ago, through his lawyers. In the complaint petition, it was requested that S.B. be punished for "abuse of office," "false expert testimony," and "attempting to influence judicial proceedings."
The Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), İmamoğlu, filed a criminal complaint against the expert S.B., whom he brought to the agenda with a press conference held about two weeks ago, through his lawyers. In the criminal complaint petition, it was requested that S.B. be punished for "abuse of office," "false expert testimony," and "attempting to influence judicial proceedings." In another application made to the Istanbul Expert Witness Regional Board Presidency, it was requested that S.B. be punished for "abuse of office," "providing false expert testimony," "attempting to influence judicial proceedings," and "engaging in behaviors contrary to the Expert Witnessing Law and its regulations."
IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu had brought the allegations regarding the retired accountant S.B., who is constantly appointed as an expert in investigations conducted against him and CHP municipalities, to the public agenda during a press conference titled "The Bigger Turnip" held on January 27.
A INVESTIGATION HAD BEEN OPENED AGAINST İMAMOĞLU
At the moment the press statement ended, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that an investigation had been initiated against İmamoğlu. On January 31, İmamoğlu, who gave a statement at the Istanbul Courthouse, was subjected to an indictment prepared with a request for 7 years and 4 months in prison, including a political ban, based on the statements made by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek and expert S.B. Five journalists working at Halk TV were detained, and among them, the General Manager of Halk TV, Suat Toktaş, was arrested.
TWO CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS WERE FILED
İmamoğlu's lawyers, who submitted a criminal complaint petition to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to be forwarded to the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, requested the punishment of expert S.B. In the criminal complaint petition, it was requested that S.B. be processed for "abuse of office," "false expert testimony," and "attempting to influence judicial proceedings." In another application made to the Istanbul Expert Witness Regional Board Presidency, it was requested that S.B. be processed for "abuse of office," "providing false expert testimony," "attempting to influence judicial proceedings," and "engaging in behaviors contrary to the Expert Witnessing Law and its regulations."
On the other hand, in another criminal complaint made to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office by İETT lawyers, it was stated that S.B. did not have the authority of "supervision," and it was requested that he be removed from the "expert witness list" and that "the sanctions imposed by the legislation be applied."
