'WE ARGUED OVER PROPERTY SHARING'

In his statement, Mesut Deniz admitted his crime and said he had argued with his father a few days earlier over property sharing. Deniz recounted that on the day of the incident, he took his unlicensed pistol with him, and in the evening, he encountered his father in front of his uncle's house.

'I THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO KILL ME'

Claiming that his father insulted and threatened him, Deniz said in his statement: 'When he saw me, he insulted me. He said, 'I'm going to kill you.' He reached for his waist. I knew he always carried a pistol. I didn't see the pistol at that moment, but I thought he was going to kill me. I drew my own pistol, cocked it, and fired at my father.'

'I FIRED EVEN AFTER MY FATHER FELL TO THE GROUND'

Mesut Deniz stated that he continued firing even after his father fell to the ground, saying, 'I fired even after my father fell. I lost my mind at that moment. Then I ran away. I didn't know what I was doing. I was tempted by the devil.'

'I WISH I HADN'T DONE IT'

Expressing regret for what happened, Deniz said, 'My intention was not to kill. I only learned he died later. I am sorry. I didn't want it to be like this. I wouldn't want to put my family and myself in this situation.'
