Claims that U.S. warplanes are using Incirlik Air Base have sparked public debate, while official authorities have provided a clear statement on the matter. The Communication Presidency's Disinformation Combat Center stated that the shared posts do not reflect the truth, announcing that the circulated images are old and have no connection to current developments.
The Communication Presidency's Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) stated that the claims regarding the active landing and takeoff of the B-1B Lancer bombers belonging to the USA at Incirlik Air Base do not reflect the truth. The statement emphasized that the mentioned shares contain disinformation aimed at misleading the public.
“THE IMAGES ARE OLD AND NOT CURRENT”
In a statement made through DMM's official social media account, it was noted that the circulated images and videos are not current. It was expressed that the shares belong to planned and routine training activities conducted in previous years.
“NO CONNECTION TO REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS”
The statement also pointed out that the mentioned contents have no connection to the existing regional conflicts. It was recorded that presenting old images as if they were new aimed to create a false perception in the public.
EMPHASIS ON “PERCEPTION OPERATION”
DMM stated that such shares are a deliberate perception operation aimed at undermining Turkey's peace-oriented policy in the region. The statement expressed that Turkey is being portrayed as part of the existing conflicts.
