FREEDOM COALITION FLEET IS HEADING TOWARDS GAZA
Another fleet is advancing towards the Gaza Strip to break Israel's blockade and deliver humanitarian aid. The Freedom Coalition Fleet, which set sail from Otranto, Italy, on September 30, continues its journey with 11 ships off the coast of the Greek island of Crete.
Representing a new civilian initiative to break Israel's illegal blockade of Gaza, the fleet includes the ship Conscience, which was repaired after being attacked off the coast of Malta in May, as well as ships from the "Freedom Fleet Coalition" and "Thousands of Madleen for Gaza" initiatives.
On May 2, the Conscience ship, which had dozens of international journalists and health workers from 25 countries on board, was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle, for which the organizers held Israel responsible. The activists on this ship are trying to reach their health and media worker friends in besieged Gaza.
THE AIM IS HUMANITARIAN AID AND TO BREAK THE BLOCKADE
The Conscience ship, which is advancing towards Gaza with ten boats from the "Freedom Fleet Coalition" and "Thousands of Madleen for Gaza," also aims to break Israel's media blockade, which prevents foreign press members from entering Gaza and imposes a media blackout.
146 PARTICIPANTS FROM 22 COUNTRIES
There are 146 participants from 22 countries on the ship. The Conscience ship has a total of 92 participants from 22 countries. The fleet aims to reach Gaza on Sunday.
