When she woke up, she noticed that I had been drinking alcohol. I had also taken 4 antidepressant pills before the alcohol. When she asked how I had gotten the alcohol, I told her I had used her credit card. We started arguing again. She said, 'Are you going to waste my money too? You already wasted your own money.' I started to cry. She said, 'How can you be a man, stop crying, you have an inferiority complex. You were jealous of my ex-boyfriend because he was more handsome than you. You had an inferiority complex, you have an inferiority complex.' When she said this, I insulted her ex-boyfriend," he said.

Halit Can Sakman, who stated that he could not control his tears during his testimony, said, "Suddenly my wife swung a knife at my throat. I stood up. She tried to run towards the door, throwing the knife on the ground. I took another knife from the counter and stabbed Sevcan once in the back. When Sevcan fell to the ground, I choked her with my hands. I turned back to the kitchen counter and took another cutting tool, I don't remember if it was a knife or a cleaver, and cut her throat. I don't remember the rest. I opened my eyes in the hospital," he stated.
