DEVA, Future and Felicity Party decided to establish a coalition party by forming a joint group in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). DEVA, FUTURE AND FELICITY ARE UNITINGResults emerged from the discussions between DEVA, the Future Party, and the Felicity Party. The three parties decided to unite in the TBMM and establish a coalition party. The coalition party will form a joint group in the TBMM. THEY WILL BE REPRESENTED WITH 34 MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENTDEVA Party has 15, the Future Party has 10, and the Felicity Party has 9 members of parliament. If there are no losses, the coalition party will be represented in the parliament with 34 members. WHAT HAPPENED?The Felicity Group is the sixth largest group under the roof of the parliament, consisting of 20 members of parliament, established by the Future Party and the Felicity Party in 2023. On December 12, 2023, Hasan Bitmez from the Felicity Party fainted during a speech at the TBMM podium and passed away on Thursday, December 14, leading to a technical decrease in the number of members to 19, putting the Felicity Group at risk of dissolution. However, the risk of dissolution ended when Ali Fazıl Kasap, a member of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) from Kütahya, joined the Felicity Group. MEETINGS WERE HELD AT THE LEADERSHIP LEVELDiscussions between the Future Party and the DEVA Party, which were conducted between delegations during the summer, were elevated to the leadership level by September 2024. Ahmet Davutoğlu, the Chairman of the Future Party, held a meeting with Ali Babacan, the Chairman of the DEVA Party, on Thursday, September 19, with the authority he received from his party. It was reported that this meeting lasted four hours and that both party leaders agreed on "continuing the merger talks." The two parties came together with the dream of forming a joint group in the parliament after the general elections on May 14, 2023, but no results were achieved from these discussions, and the Future Party established the sixth group of the parliament with its partner in the Nation Alliance, the Felicity Party.
