DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan made important warnings regarding the war between the US-Israel and Iran. Babacan emphasized that Turkey's position is one of peace and diplomacy.

DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan made important warnings regarding the war between the US-Israel and Iran, as well as the missiles that have fallen on Turkish territory. Reminding that three ballistic missiles have fallen on our lands so far, Babacan said, "Let's be patient, but patience has its limits. Whoever is behind these missiles, whether they are provocateurs or infiltrators from Iran, should be careful."

During his meetings in Izmir, DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan made evaluations on the agenda at the iftar dinner of his party's Torbalı District Presidency. Emphasizing that Turkey's place in the war happening right next to us is peace and diplomacy, Ali Babacan stressed that true peace is possible not through the use of force, but through international law, diplomacy, and common sense. Babacan continued:

"Recently, during the Galatasaray–Liverpool match, Liverpool fans displayed a banner. What did they write on that banner? The famous words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: 'Peace at Home, Peace in the World.' This is exactly where we stand: Peace at Home, Peace in the World. First, we will achieve peace in our own homeland, we will unite, we will come together."

"THE BALANCE OF THE SCALE OF JUSTICE HAS LONG BEEN LOST"

DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan continued his criticisms regarding the justice mechanism during his program in Izmir.

"The scale of justice has long lost its balance. The judiciary continues to be used like a club," said Babacan, and continued his remarks: "The judiciary has been transformed into a tool of pressure to silence dissenting voices, to cut off criticism, and to amplify fear. It doesn't matter if you are a journalist, politician, or academic... Anyone who raises their voice a little faces pressure; anyone who demands rights encounters arbitrary decisions. With the orders given, the courts hold what the government says to 'hold' and release what it says to 'release.' But let's not forget; despite everything, we have thousands of prosecutors and judges who are trying to do their jobs properly. They watch with sadness and concern the fact that trust in the judiciary has diminished so much in Turkey. The judiciary community is also suffering from this pressure of politics. Because a politicized and clique-oriented judiciary cannot dispense justice. Moreover, the damage caused by a judiciary that is intervened in by politics and acts on orders is impossible to remedy."

"THERE IS NO EXAMPLE OF PASSING WITHOUT A RAISE IN RECENT HISTORY"

DEVA Party leader Ali Babacan also criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for presenting the payment of retirement salaries before the holiday as a "good news." Reminding that there was no increase in the holiday bonus for retirees, which was 4,000 TL last year, Babacan said, "This year, it has been announced that there will be no increase at all. In other words, even the 30% inflation difference announced by TÜİK will not be reflected in the holiday bonus.

There is no example in our recent history of passing any salary bonus without a raise. Let's remember; when the holiday bonus application first started, one could buy a sacrifice with a bonus. It was said that at least our retirees should be able to sacrifice an animal during the holiday. Today, a sacrifice costs at least 18-20 thousand lira. According to the sacrifice money calculation, the holiday bonus should be at least as much as one month's salary. Since 2018, the government has further impoverished millions of retirees, continuing to take from the poor and give to the rich. The picture is clear; the rest is just talk..." he said.

"WITH KYK SCHOLARSHIP, A STUDENT CAN ONLY DRINK ONE CUP OF COFFEE"

Ali Babacan, while drawing attention to the problems faced by minimum wage earners, retirees, and students before the upcoming holiday, said, "When university students try to buy a bus ticket to go to their hometowns, they have to pay at least 50% to 60% more for the ticket compared to the last holiday. They are paid 4,000 lira monthly as KYK scholarship. When you divide it by 30 days, it amounts to 133 lira per day. Last night in Aydın, I asked, and the prices of coffee in cafes frequently visited by university students range between 100 and 200 lira. So, with the KYK scholarship, a university student can only drink one cup of coffee a day... That's it. There is no money for food, no money for housing, no money for education expenses... The current government is telling the student to live on one coffee a day. This is the situation of the students. It's a shame, really a shame. The current government no longer has the vision or ability to get this country back on track." he expressed.
