The first clue regarding MHP leader Bahçeli's statement that "a group of commission members should go to İmralı for a face-to-face meeting" came from the DEM Party. Pervin Buldan, a member of the DEM Party's İmralı delegation, stated, "A five-member delegation consisting of parties with groups is planned to go." Buldan further expressed that Öcalan wants to engage in special discussions with the commission delegation.

After MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's statement that "A group of commission members should go to İmralı for face-to-face meetings," attention turned to the Parliament, with the first details coming from the DEM Party.

5 PARTIES WILL BE REPRESENTED IN THE COMMISSION

Pervin Buldan, a member of the İmralı Delegation from the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), shared details about the delegation to be formed in a statement regarding the latest developments. Buldan said, "A 5-member delegation consisting of representatives from parties with a group in the Parliament is planned to go. There are also parties without a group in the Parliament, but there is no clear information about their participation."

Buldan also denied claims that the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, would be part of the delegation, stating, "Mr. Kurtulmuş has no possibility of going to the island. There has never been such an agenda. Mr. Öcalan did not request this either."

"ÖCALAN WANTS TO HAVE PRIVATE DISCUSSIONS WITH THE COMMISSION"

Pervin Buldan emphasized that Abdullah Öcalan wants to exchange ideas directly with the commission members:

"Mr. Öcalan wants to share his views with the commission within a democratic framework. He intends to make a comprehensive assessment regarding the emergence of the PKK, its dissolution, and the opening of democratic politics."

Buldan stated that Öcalan has prepared proposals regarding the termination of the PKK's armed structure and the integration of organization members into democratic politics, saying, "He wants to contribute to the process with a strong perspective. The commission should listen to him and take his evaluations regarding legal regulations into account," she expressed.

"THE COMMISSION MUST GO TO İMRALI AS SOON AS POSSIBLE"

Buldan also expressed that the İmralı process should be initiated without delay:

"We shared this with state officials after the meeting. The commission needs to go to İmralı as soon as possible. It is important for this visit to take place after the resting period is completed."

GREEN LIGHT FROM THE AK PARTY

AK Party Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, regarding MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's call for a delegation to be sent to İmralı from the commission, stated, "Our goal is to end terrorism. The commission will reassess needs as necessary when the time comes and when its work is completed. After the evaluation, a matter will arise. We will also include it in our agenda and discuss it," he expressed.

WHAT DID BAHÇELİ SAY?

Speaking at his party's group meeting in the Parliament on Tuesday, October 7, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli stated: "I must say without bending or twisting, the founding leadership of the PKK has put its hand under the stone. At the end of the February 27 Peace and Democratic Society Call, the PKK laid down its arms on May 12 and dissolved its organizational existence. On July 11, a group of PKK members burned their weapons. However, the SDG/YPG, which has an area of influence in northeastern Syria, has not yet laid down its arms and has not complied with the February 27 İmralı call. However, the İmralı call encompasses all components of separatist terrorism, as well as the PKK. At least, this is how we understand it; our interpretation is in this direction. My expectation is this: The founding leadership of the PKK should directly call the SDG/YPG with the same nature and content, demanding compliance with the March 10 agreement signed with the Damascus administration. While a consensus has been reached that the People's Assembly elections, held for the first time after the fall of the Assad regime, should be the focal point of the new period, new political and social mechanisms within democratic stability; the exclusion of Raqqa, Hasakah, and Sweida contradicts the spirit of the March 10 Agreement. If necessary, a group of deputies serving in the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission should go to İmralı to have face-to-face meetings, messages should be received firsthand, and shared with the public. I see nothing to hesitate about in this matter. The statement binding us is the February 27 İmralı statement."
