Discounts will be applied for train ticket purchases for newly married couples and families. The details of the implementation were announced by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that special discounts will be offered to families and newlywed couples for train travel, in line with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's declaration of 2025 as the "Year of Family." Minister Uraloğlu also announced that the discount application will start on March 8 (tomorrow).
50% DISCOUNT STARTING
Minister Uraloğlu explained that under the discounts valid throughout 2025, family members including mothers, fathers, children, as well as grandmothers, grandfathers, and other relatives traveling together will benefit from the discount.
The Minister of Transport and Infrastructure stated the following in his announcement: With this application, which will be valid on the condition of purchasing at least 3 and a maximum of 11 tickets, families will travel economically and comfortably with a 15% discount. Additionally, a 'Newlywed Tariff' will be introduced for couples who get married in 2025. With this special tariff, newlywed couples will be able to purchase train tickets with a 50% discount.
ADDITIONAL TO EXISTING DISCOUNTS
Abdulkadir Uraloğlu noted that the existing discounts offered by TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ will continue, reminding that children aged 0-6 travel for free, children aged 7-12 travel with a 50% discount, and young people aged 13-26 travel with a 15% discount.
In addition, Uraloğlu stated that a 15% discount is applied to passengers aged 60-64, and a 50% discount is applied to passengers aged 65 and over, and that the 15% discount application for teachers, military personnel, and journalists holding domestic and foreign press cards will also continue.
