It was reported that American billionaire Elon Musk met with Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Emir Said Iravani, to reduce tensions between Tehran and Washington. THE MEETING TOOK PLACE IN NEW YORKAccording to a report by the New York Times, two Iranian officials, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that the meeting between Musk, who was nominated by the new President of the United States, Donald Trump, as the Secretary of State Efficiency, and Iravani took place in New York. The officials noted that the meeting lasted over an hour and was held in a "positive" atmosphere, with an assessment that it would yield "good results." The officials stated that the meeting was held at Musk's request to reduce tensions between Iran and the United States. They reported that Iravani suggested to Musk to direct his investments to Tehran and advised him to request "exemption from sanctions against Iran from the U.S. Department of the Treasury" for this purpose. STATEMENT FROM TRUMP'S SPOKESPERSONWhile Iran's UN Permanent Mission stated that it would not comment on the meeting, Steven Cheung, spokesperson for Donald Trump, who was elected as the 47th President of the United States, responded to a question about the meeting by saying, "We do not comment on reports regarding secret meetings whose occurrence is uncertain." Trump's campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt also noted that the American people chose Trump due to the trust they placed in him to "govern the country and establish global peace," stating, "He (Trump) will take the necessary steps to achieve this (establishing global peace) when he returns to the White House." Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had shared on his social media account yesterday that "disagreements can be resolved through cooperation and dialogue" regarding the disputes over his country's nuclear program.
