A company seeking to meet the demand for drivers in intercity passenger transportation has posted a striking job advertisement. The criteria sought in candidates applying for the position offering a monthly salary of 100,000 TL have been detailed.
Candidates applying for the ad must be between the ages of 30 and 55, strictly non-smokers, and must not touch their mobile phones while driving. In addition to a clean criminal record and absence of debt enforcement proceedings, candidates must have had no involvement in fatal or injury-causing accidents in the past, and their driver's license penalty points must remain below 40. For the position requiring platform experience, candidates must reside in Istanbul, Izmir, or Mersin and possess a current health report.
HERE ARE THE WORKING HOURS OF BUS CAPTAINS
With the record-salary advertisement, the legal working conditions of bus captains have also come to the forefront. By regulation, bus drivers can drive a vehicle for a maximum of 4.5 hours without interruption. After this period, drivers are required to take a break of at least 45 minutes. Drivers who wish can also use this 45-minute rest period in segments of at least 15 minutes within the driving period. In double-driver trips or short distances, a driver's daily driving time can be limited to 4.5 hours.
Under the Highway Traffic Law, a bus driver can drive a total of up to 9 hours within a 24-hour period. Violations of these rules result in heavy administrative fines at checkpoints. While drivers must have at least 11 hours of uninterrupted rest every 24 hours, all these driving and break times are digitally recorded and monitored via tachograph devices in the vehicles.
