HE SHARED HIS EXPERIENCES
Denizli, who stated that he was called to give a statement as part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the evening of February 16, reported that two days later he expressed through his lawyer that he wanted to undergo tests at the Forensic Medicine Institution, saying, "On February 20, I gave my statement in the investigation file I was invited to and reiterated my request in my statement. Then, I was directed by the prosecutor's office to the Forensic Medicine Institution to undergo tests, and I provided my hair, blood, urine, and nail samples."
"CLEAN ONES DO NOT STAIN"
During this process, Mayor Denizli shared that the sleepless nights his father experienced due to sadness and his mother's tears hurt him the most, stating, "For this reason, my lawyers are initiating legal processes against everyone who has made and spread these immoral accusations against my family. I will confront each of them one by one in court. Clean ones do not stain. My conscience is clear, and the sun cannot be covered with mud. I saw yesterday in various media outlets that all my test results, which I did not expect to be otherwise, were negative. Today, my lawyer was informed that the relevant report was submitted to the file by the Forensic Medicine Institution."
"WE WILL ALWAYS PROVIDE NECESSARY ANSWERS TO ALL QUESTIONS AND INQUIRIES"
Denizli continued his remarks: "I have never been a part or subject of a matter that I cannot account for yesterday, today, or tomorrow. While we live a life dedicated to serving our country with dignity, we never hesitate for a moment to be open and honest with our nation. For this reason, I hope that the statement procedures conducted by invitation will serve as an example in all files. As individuals responsible to the public and the nation, we will always provide necessary answers to all questions and inquiries in judicial authorities. We will never shy away from this. Just like asset declarations, I believe that conducting tests on bureaucrats and mayors at regular intervals, if necessary, can prevent such immoral accusations from being used as a tool of slander. This is feasible. Thus, many public employees who are slandered with fabricated accusations will not be turned into a part of these slanders.
