Effective from January 1: A cap on fees is being introduced.

The valet fees, which have reached exorbitant amounts in the upscale neighborhoods of Istanbul, will be set to a fixed rate starting from January 1, 2025.

The valet fees, which have become a topic of discussion in some neighborhoods of Istanbul, will be set at a fixed rate starting from 2025.

According to the news by Yener Karadeniz from Ekonomim, a directive was sent from the Istanbul Governorship to the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) regarding the matter. The directive requested the establishment of a fixed price tariff for valet services.

ISTANBUL DIVIDED INTO 3 ECONOMIC REGIONS

In the draft regulation prepared by ITO, Istanbul has been divided into three different economic regions, and the amounts for valet fees have also gained clarity. According to the draft regulation that passed unanimously in ITO's council meeting in November; the maximum valet service fee, excluding parking fees, has been set at 150-200 lira in hospitals, 200-300 lira in shopping malls, 250-400 lira in restaurants, hotels, and entertainment centers, and 500 lira at airports.

Valet Fees in Istanbul Will Be Fixed Starting from 2025

PRICES WILL INCREASE ACCORDING TO DISTRICTS

On the other hand, the districts in Istanbul will be divided into three different regions, and there may be price increases based on these regions.

1ST REGION

In the 1st Region, which includes Bakırköy, Beşiktaş, Beyoğlu, Fatih, Kadıköy, Şişli, and Üsküdar, the maximum price for hospitals will be 200 lira, 300 lira for shopping malls, and 400 lira for restaurants, hotels, and entertainment centers.

2ND REGION

In the second region, which includes Adalar, Ataşehir, Avcılar, Bağcılar, Bahçelievler, Başakşehir, Bayrampaşa, Beykoz, Beylikdüzü, Büyükçekmece, Esenyurt, Eyüpsultan, Güngören, Kağıthane, Kartal, Küçükçekmece, Maltepe, Pendik, Sarıyer, Tuzla, Ümraniye, and Zeytinburnu, the maximum valet fee in hospitals will be set at 150 lira, 250 lira in shopping malls, and 300 lira in restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues.

3RD REGION

In the third region, which includes Arnavutköy, Çatalca, Çekmeköy, Esenler, Gaziosmanpaşa, Silivri, Sancaktepe, Sultangazi, Sultanbeyli, and Şile, the maximum valet service fee will also be 150 lira in hospitals, 200 lira in shopping malls, and 250 lira in restaurants, hotels, and entertainment centers.

The determined maximum valet fees will come into effect throughout Istanbul on January 1, 2025, according to region and type of establishment.
