Emotional moments emerged from the forest fire that started in the Menderes district of İzmir and turned many houses in Seferihisar to ashes. A wheelchair-bound elderly man who could not leave his home and a citizen trapped in their house along with their cat were rescued by the teams.

INTERVENTION IN THE FLAMES CONTINUES
Intervention in the flames was carried out from the air with 18 planes and 10 helicopters belonging to the General Directorate of Forestry, and from the ground with 40 water trucks, 10 water supply vehicles, and 4 bulldozers. In the area where the wind is effective, teams continue to make extraordinary efforts to bring the flames under control.
HOUSES HAVE STARTED TO BE EVACUATED
Despite all the interventions made by the teams from both the air and the ground, the flames reached the neighborhoods of Orhanlı, Payamlı, Atatürk, Cumhuriyet, and Kavakdere. With the call made by law enforcement officers, citizens began to be evacuated from their homes.
THOSE TRAPPED HAVE BEEN RESCUED
Meanwhile, as night fell, the flames became even more visible, and in many settlements in Seferihisar district, the flames reached the houses. An elderly man in a wheelchair was rescued by the teams. A citizen who was also trapped in his house with his cat was rescued by the teams, leading to emotional moments afterwards.
