The actor Emre Bulut is being tried for allegedly introducing himself as a commissioner to a friend of 15 years and taking his vehicle by showing a fake police badge. Bulut, who was charged with "abuse of trust" by the Tokat Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, denied the allegations in court and was released.
The actor Emre Bulut came to the fore with the complaint of his 15-year-old friend A.U. According to the allegation, Bulut introduced himself as a police officer and was sued after he did not return the vehicle he temporarily borrowed for days.
"I AM A POLICE OFFICER," HE SAID, AND TOOK THE VEHICLE
A.U. (41), who works at a hospital in Tokat, trusted the actor Emre Bulut, whom he has known for 15 years. According to the allegation, Bulut showed a fake police badge to his friend, saying, "I am a police officer," and asked to temporarily borrow his vehicle to go to Amasya. A.U. handed over the vehicle in the hospital parking lot.
However, after Bulut took the vehicle, he disappeared for a long time and did not answer his phone calls, prompting A.U. to go to the prosecutor's office and file a complaint.
PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE TOOK ACTION
Upon the complaint, the Tokat Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation against Emre Bulut for the crime of "abuse of trust." In the prepared indictment, a prison sentence of 6 months to 2 years was requested for Bulut. At the same time, an arrest warrant was issued for the actor.
DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS IN COURT
According to a report by Sabah, Bulut, who was caught and taken into custody in Istanbul, appeared before the judge at the Istanbul Criminal Court of First Instance. In his defense, Bulut stated that the vehicle was given to him at the request of his friend, and he used the following statements: "I have an acquaintance with A.U. through the hospital. I only asked for the vehicle for one day, and I returned it the next evening. I did not say I was a police officer. I am already an actor; people know me from the screens."
The actor also stated that the police badge he had was from a film set and requested his acquittal.
RELEASED
The court decided to release Emre Bulut. The case will be heard again in the coming days.
