President Erdogan announced that an agreement allowing travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina with an ID card will be signed soon. President Erdogan and Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Becirovic held a press conference after their meeting at the Presidential Dolmabahçe Office in Istanbul. Erdogan expressed his great pleasure in hosting Becirovic in Istanbul. Erdogan stated that they had a very productive meeting with Becirovic and discussed in detail the special nature of Turkey-Bosnia and Herzegovina relations. They exchanged ideas about regional developments focusing on the Balkans. They also discussed the steps to be taken at the United Nations regarding the genocide in Gaza and against Israel," he said. ERDOĞAN: TARGET IS 1 BILLION DOLLARS IN TRADE VOLUME WITH BOSNIAErdoğan stated that they also discussed the steps to deepen bilateral relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and said, "We expect the bilateral trade volume to reach 1 billion dollars by the end of this year. Of course, we do not find this figure sufficient. We exchanged ideas about what can be done to increase mutual trade in this regard. TRAVEL TO BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA WITH AN ID CARDWe also discussed the construction of the Sarajevo-Belgrade Highway within this framework. I shared my wish for the project to be completed as soon as possible with the President. I also conveyed to my dear brother that we will continue to support projects for the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the fields of energy and infrastructure," he said. Erdogan emphasized that it is pleasing that Turkish citizens ranked first among the tourists visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first 7 months of this year, surpassing neighboring countries. He said, "By signing an agreement that will allow travel with an ID card between our countries, we aim to further develop the human relations between our peoples. Military and security cooperation was also on our agenda. We discussed how and to what extent we will develop our cooperation, especially in the defense industry. We also discussed our expectations regarding the joint fight against FETO," he said.
