According to the decision published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Erdoğan, new faculties, institutes, and vocational schools have been established at several universities, including the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Samsun University. On the other hand, some faculties and vocational schools, including the School of Applied Sciences at Istanbul Esenyurt University, have been closed, while the names of some others have been changed.

The name of the Faculty of Engineering at Fenerbahçe University has been changed to the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the name of the Faculty of Engineering at Yeditepe University has been changed to the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the name of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at Yalova University has been changed to the Faculty of Theology, the name of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at Kayseri University Develi has been changed to the Develi Faculty of Theology, and the name of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University has been changed to the Faculty of Theology.
