Prof. Dr. Ersan Şen claimed that if the elections were held with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who returned to the CHP Chairmanship by court order, the party would fall below the electoral threshold, stating, "I am ready to bet everything I own. If you have the power to win these elections as the CHP leader and get your preferred candidate elected as president, show me, and I will kiss your hands and feet. But you have no chance or possibility of doing this."
The decision of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice 36th Civil Chamber to annul the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP and transfer the party leadership back to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his team continues to stir political circles. Legal expert Prof. Dr. Ersan Şen, speaking on the "Taksim Meydanı" program broadcast on TGRT News, made remarks about the current state and future of the CHP that are likely to be widely discussed.
"KILIÇDAROĞLU WILL NOT LEAVE HIS POST"
Recalling that he correctly predicted Kılıçdaroğlu would not be elected before the May 2023 elections, Ersan Şen stated that a point of no return has been reached in the CHP. Şen used the following expressions: "This is over. Kılıçdaroğlu will not leave his post from now on, it seems. If the CHP enters the elections under Kılıçdaroğlu's leadership, it will fall below the electoral threshold. I say this clearly. There is no need to waste time with congresses; the CHP is now fragmented."
"IF A BALLOT BOX WERE PLACED, HE WOULDN'T GET EVEN ONE VOTE"
Commenting on leadership comparisons within the party, Şen claimed that Kılıçdaroğlu has lost his resonance with the grassroots and voters, saying, "If you put a ballot box here and vote between Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu and Erdoğan, Kılıçdaroğlu wouldn't get a single vote. If you vote between Kılıçdaroğlu and Özel, Kılıçdaroğlu still wouldn't get a single vote. Young people no longer have expectations from the CHP; they are tired now."
ADVICE TO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL: IMMEDIATELY FOUND A NEW PARTY
Addressing Özgür Özel and his team, who were removed from their positions by the court decision, Ersan Şen pointed to the route of "political separation":
New Party Option: Özgür Özel must immediately found a new party without waiting a single day.
Shell Party Formula: If there is a time constraint regarding participation in elections, the name of an existing, untainted, and unknown party should be changed to proceed. Şen argued that only with this formula would the political weight of the parties become clear.
"I BET ALL MY ASSETS"
Responding to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's slogan "We will purify ourselves and we will win" used upon returning to duty with a harsh challenge, Şen concluded his words as follows: "I am also making any bet, with all my assets. If you have the power as the CHP leader to win these elections and get your preferred candidate elected as president, show me, and I will kiss your hands and feet. But you have no possibility or chance of doing this."
