Eyüpspor's head coach Atila Gerin, after the defeat against Antalyaspor, pointed out the referee mistakes and stated that they play against 12-13 people every week.
In the 28th week of the Trendyol Super League, Eyüpspor lost 3-0 at home to Antalyaspor. Eyüpspor's head coach Atila Gerin made striking statements at the press conference held after the match.
''WE HAVE SERIOUS OPPORTUNITIES''
Evaluating the match, Atila Gerin said, "We were doing well while it was 11 against 11. Antalyaspor was playing with the motivation of lifting themselves up with a 3-point win against a team below them in front of their own fans. We knew all of this. While it was 11 against 11, we could go according to our planned strategy. During that time, we had serious opportunities. After the red card, the game fell apart. As a coach who believes in the power of the game, I am making efforts to do something to criticize. As a club, we were rowing against the current. I cannot understand why we are being ridden on again." he said.
''WE ARE PLAYING AGAINST 12-13 PEOPLE''
Criticizing the referee's management of the match, Gerin stated, "Let everything be played and won on the field. It should not be a normal environment where the weak is trampled over. When the match is 3-0, people perceive it as an easy win. There is a derby tonight, these issues will not make the headlines. It happens this way because they think, 'What happens if you trample over Eyüpspor, what happens if you don’t?' I wish the bottom-ranked Eyüpspor could also remain strong and not have their rights violated. I do not want this just for myself. Antalya is a huge city, our pride and honor in the world. We take pride in Antalyaspor playing in Europe with this audience. But let it not be at the expense of Eyüpspor. We are playing against 12-13 people in every match," he said.
