Father who shot his 7-year-old son arrested: Child's condition critical.

A father with three criminal records in Kayseri shot his 7-year-old son Demir with a rifle for an unknown reason. The incident occurred yesterday around 11:00 AM in a 14-story building on Fetih Street in the Gesi Fatih neighborhood of the Melikgazi district. Volkan Koç, who has three criminal records, seriously injured his son Demir K. with a rifle for an unknown reason. Upon the mother's report, fire brigade, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the address. After the initial intervention by the teams, Demir K. was taken to Kayseri City Hospital. After the incident, father Koç locked himself in the house. The police teams started working to convince Volkan Koç to surrender. Koç surrendered after a 4-hour negotiation with the teams. Volkan Koç, who was taken out of the house under police escort, was detained and taken to the police station.

Koç, who was detained, was arrested by the court he was brought to after his procedures at the police station. On the other hand, it was learned that Demir K., who was seriously injured in the head by the rifle, was still in critical condition.
