Fatih Erbakan provided a net figure for the minimum wage.

07.11.2024 17:21

The leader of the New Welfare Party, Fatih Erbakan, stated, "This year, the minimum wage needs to be raised to 35,000 TL. Because the poverty line has reached 70,000 TL. When there are two minimum wages in a household, when a husband and wife are living on minimum wage, the amount coming into that household must at least reach the poverty line."

The General President of the New Welfare Party (YRP), Fatih Erbakan, emphasized that with the poverty line rising to 70,000 TL, the minimum wage should be increased to 35,000 TL, stating that support should be provided to workers.

YRP leader Fatih Erbakan continued his party's 'Anatolian Meetings' program today with a series of visits in the Arnavutköy district of Istanbul. During the visits attended by the party's senior executives and local organization members, Erbakan chatted with factory workers and performed the noon prayer at the Arnavutköy Central Mosque. The program continued with a visit to the Arnavutköy New Welfare Party district presidency and meetings with tradesmen. It was learned that Erbakan's program would conclude with a visit to the Erzurumlular Association.

"A RESOURCE OF 35 MILLION DOLLARS WAS CREATED, NOT FOR THE ALLY, BUT FOR THE WORKER"

Fatih Erbakan emphasized that the resources created during the 54th Government were used correctly, stating, "During that period, a balanced budget was made, saving billions of dollars that would have gone to interest. Along with this, billions of dollars were saved by preventing waste and irregularities in the public sector. Additionally, through national resource packages, a resource of 35 billion dollars was created by producing resources and preventing unjust profits transferred to a handful of privileged holdings. This resource was not transferred to allies, relatives, or party members; it was transferred to workers, low-income individuals, employees, civil servants, retirees, farmers, and villagers. We are still talking about the salary increases made by our late teacher Erbakan. With the record salary increases in the history of the Republic, a 100% salary increase was given to our workers and minimum wage earners, a 200% increase to our civil servants, and a 320% increase to retirees who are Bağ-Kur pensioners," he stated.

"THE MINIMUM WAGE MUST BE INCREASED TO 35,000 TL"

Arguing that the minimum wage is insufficient under current conditions, Erbakan said, "To increase the minimum wage by 100% means that the minimum wage should reach 35,000 TL today. As the New Welfare Party, we have expressed this at every opportunity. This year, the minimum wage must be increased to 35,000 TL. Because the poverty line has reached 70,000 TL. When there are two minimum wages in a household, when a husband and wife live on the minimum wage, the amount entering that household must at least reach the poverty line. Of course, along with this, the state must provide the necessary support and incentives to the employer," he stated.

Erbakan also inspected the membership activities at his party's stand located in Arnavutköy Republic Square. -
