Former Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor Şadan Sakınan, who has been wanted for 10 years as part of the investigation into the judicial structure of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization, has been transferred to the Ankara Courthouse. Sakınan was arrested for the crime of being a member of an armed terrorist organization.

Former Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Deputy Şadan Sakınan, who had been on the run for 10 years as part of the investigation into FETÖ's judicial structuring, was brought to court and arrested.

FORMER CHIEF PROSECUTOR'S DEPUTY ARRESTED IN FETÖ INVESTIGATION

After completing his procedures at the police station, suspect Sakınan was brought to court under heavy security measures following a health check.

After giving a statement to the prosecutor conducting the investigation, Sakınan was referred to the peace criminal court with a request for arrest. Şadan Sakınan was arrested by the Ankara 2nd Peace Criminal Court on charges of "membership in an armed terrorist organization."

BACKGROUND OF THE INVESTIGATION

As part of the investigation by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, efforts were initiated to identify and capture fugitive individuals who are members of FETÖ.

In this context, Şadan Sakınan, who had an arrest warrant for "being a member of FETÖ" and two separate charges of "abuse of office," and who was listed in the Ministry of Interior's "gray list of wanted persons," was found to be hiding in a safe house.

On March 2, in an operation conducted by the Ankara Police Department teams at the organization's safe house located in the Aşağı Öveçler neighborhood of Çankaya, Sakınan was detained where he was hiding behind a wardrobe.
