Fire At Wolves Stadium Causes 'Considerable Damage'

English Premier League club says no one hurt in fire at Molineux Stadium.

A fire that broke out at the early hours of Sunday morning has caused "considerable damage" to the Wolverhampton Wanderers' stadium, the English Premier League club said.
The fire impacted "a hospitality suite and a number of adjacent areas in the Billy Wright Stand, at Molineux.
"Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident, which was phoned-in to the fire service by a member of the security team at 1.56am, on the morning of Sunday 23rd January," Wolves said in a statement.
Firefighters rushed to the Molineux Stadium to tackle the fire and police units were also sent there.
No paramedics were needed, Wolverhampton Wanderers said.
Meanwhile the club's security director thanked West Midlands Fire Service for their efforts to contain the fire.
"Thank you to the quick and excellent work of West Midlands Fire Service for their prompt assistance in tackling the flames and getting the fire under control as quickly as possible," Steve Sutton said, adding that the club will "fully assess the damage" at Molineux.
"It will take some days to fully assess the damage that has been caused, however it is quite significant and will take some time to repair," Sutton said.
Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday visited Brentford to take a 2-1 win at Brentford Community Stadium.
Wolves will host Norwich City in an Emirates FA Cup match on Feb. 5 at Molineux for the West Midlands club's next home game. -
